France - Loire

The Loire Valley can be grouped into Central Vineyards, Touraine, Anjoy-Saumur and Nantais, each subject to different climatic influences. The spread ranges from the continental centre to the more Atlantic-influenced, semi-continental and the oceanic breezes on the Atlantic coast.

The region lies at the northern limit for the production of Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Melon Blanc and Cabernet Franc.

The region's trade and history are intrinsically linked to the 600-mile-long Loire River.

Bright green hues are visible in the colour. The nose has notes of nut and fruit which develops into a bright palate of ripe fruit. The finish of this wine has a slight citrus peel bitterness to it. A crisp and dry Loire Valley Sauvignon in a similar style to Sancerre. Overall a very vivacious wine.

A deliciously soft, medium dry wine with apple fruit and a smooth finish, Francois Bonhomme produces this excellent aperitif wine. A fresh, crisp, sweet fruitiness abounds in this wine made from the Chenin Blanc grape.

Coteaux du Layon

By Domaine des Haute Brosses
Rochefort sur Loire, Loire, France

Intense robe, yellow or with glints of green, turning to antique gold with hints of amber. Intense and complex nose, aromas of flowers, white fruits, candied citrus fruits and exotic fruits in the early years, which after 5 to 10 years evolve into hints of precious wood, dried or candied fruit, honey and roasted almonds, generally marked by strong minerality. Later on they will also offer hints of waxy gentian. Powerful opulence on the palate with a strong fat richness, giving these very sweet wines exemplary balance between mellowness and liveliness.

Sancerre Naudet Blanc

By Domaine Naudet
Sury-en-Vaux, Loire, France

Sauvignon Blanc 100%

A small parcel of high-quality, single-estate Sancerre that perfectly exhibits the typical minerally terroir. It has pungent, green grass aromas and a crisp, fresh palate boasting citrus and asparagus notes. An excellent wine with goats cheese, shellfish, vegetable based dishes and charcuterie
