The Loire Valley can be grouped into Central Vineyards, Touraine, Anjoy-Saumur and Nantais, each subject to different climatic influences. The spread ranges from the continental centre to the more Atlantic-influenced, semi-continental and the oceanic breezes on the Atlantic coast.
The region lies at the northern limit for the production of Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Melon Blanc and Cabernet Franc.
The region's trade and history are intrinsically linked to the 600-mile-long Loire River.
Brilliant, golden robe, Intense and complex nose exhaling tropical
fruits. The mouth is rich, concentrated, with a good length and a well
balanced acidity perfectly expressing the aromatic palette of tropical
fruits (especially mango and passion fruit), delicious by itself as
an aperitif. It is excellent served with most hors d'oeuvres and
appetisers, seafood, fish, and certain cheeses like goat cheese
in particular. Serve at around 10-12°C. It can be kept long after
with a slow evolution of the aromas.
