Australia has been very successful at crafting international grape varieties into unique and new styles.
Commercial viticulture was established during the early part of the 19th century.
It has a diverse range of climates: a tropical weather pattern affecting the north, while the southern half of the country enjoys a less extreme band of warm to hot weather oscillating between 25 and 35 degrees.
The Clare Valley is a wonderful place which brings out the best from Riesling grapevines. Aromatic, floral aromas lead to lively citrus flavours and a crisp dry finish. Enjoy now or will reward with careful cellaring.
This shiraz begins with smokey vanillin oak and goes through the spectrum of chocolate,
coconut, violets, peppers and prune, to a full, rounded palate and finishes with elegantly balanced tannins.
Beautiful aromas of blackberries, eucalyptus, chocolate and mint. On the palate it is smooth and full bodied and finishes with fine tannins. Wonderfully elegant on the surface but has powerful underlying varietal characters that may take you by surprise.
This is a wine full of subtle nuances from careful use of French and American oak, balanced with plum and mulberry. The full rounded palate lingers, finishing with soft silky tannins. An elegant and smooth wine.
Aromas of plums on the nose, blueberries and spices are generous on the palate. It finishes with subtle pepper overtones and an impression as big as its namesake.
Pale straw in colour with green hues. On the nose, aromas of peach, ripe melon and honeysuckle. A full, soft, stone fruit palate of peaches and nectarines intermingled with rock melon. A creamy texture and lingering lime citrus finish.
Deep ruby red in colour, blackberry/stewed plum fruit with hints
of mocha and lifted vanillin on the nose; a full, soft fleshy palate
driven by boysen berry, cassis, cinnamon spice and a touch of white
pepper leading to a smooth velvety lingering finish.
This Shiraz emits dark cherry, anise and cedar aromas, with a soft, full approachable palate of plum and mulberry laced with traces of vanilla and white pepper complexity.
