In the days when ballast stone was an important feature of some of Australia’s most iconic buildings, the daring Steeplejacks played a crucial role in their construction and maintenance. As skilled craftsmen, they completed the most difficult work on the highest towers, oblivious to vertigo, gravity and mortality.

Ballast Stone's wine is produced from grapes picked from their family vineyards and is produced at their Ballast Stone winery that is located in the Currency Creek region. Steeple Jacks played a crucial role in constructing and maintaining our townships, completing stonework on the highest towers, oblivious to vertigo, gravity and mortality.
Pale straw in colour with green hues. On the nose, aromas of peach, ripe melon and honeysuckle. A full, soft, stone fruit palate of peaches and nectarines intermingled with rock melon. A creamy texture and lingering lime citrus finish.

The Shaw family has over 35 years of wine industry experience as a vigneron and vintner. Their dream for family involvement inspired Richard and Marie to expand from 5 acres to over 1,200 acres to become one of the largest owners of vineyards in the premium cool climate regions of McLaren Vale and Currency Creek.

Deep ruby red in colour, blackberry/stewed plum fruit with hints of mocha and lifted vanillin on the nose; a full, soft fleshy palate driven by boysen berry, cassis, cinnamon spice and a touch of white pepper leading to a smooth velvety lingering finish.
