Under family ownership for more than a century, the operation of Domaine de Guilhon d'Aze extends over a vineyard area of fifty two hectares to the west of the department of Gers in the famous appellation "Bas Armagnac". On a local sandy soil, our vineyards cover soft hills and sunny slopes. It is here, in the land of the Armagnac in a preserved and authentic environment that our family respects the traditions of the soil and cultivates the vine with passion. The estate is planted with the noblest grape varieties: Gros/Petit Manseng, Colombard, Ugni Blanc, Sauvignon and for red wines the pairs of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvigon, and Merlot.

The wider area of Armagnac comprises the Bas-Armagnac, Armagnac-Ténarèze and Haut-Armagnac which together constitute a vineyard region in the shape of a vine leaf that represents 15,000 hectares of vines planted on part of the three departments: Gers, Landes and the Lot-et-Garonne.

The climate is temperate and mild. The oceanic influence, wet, attenuated by the forest of the Landes, is most noticeable in the western Appellation. In the east, the Mediterranean climate is expressed with the winds of Autan.

The Domaine de Guilhon d'Aze is located 5 km from Cazaubon and Barbotan les Thermes, on the small town of Larée.
