Origin: Vacqueyras

Since 1962, the Mourre family has been producing wines in Vacqueyras, Rhône valley, SE of France.

With a training of geologist, Jean-Louis Mourre took over the estate in 1995. He considers the sedimentary soils, the flora, the climate and the wine making in order to make a consistent quality each vintage. Le Colombier produces around 18000 cases of wine per year of AOP Vacqueyras, AOP Côtes du Rhône, AOP Ventoux and IGP Méditerranée. The size of the estate is 54 acres.

Vinification

Terroir : Clay, sandstone and limestones. Yield : 35 hl/ha. No ageing in wood in order to maintain the fruit.

Grenache/Garnacha 70%, Syrah/Shiraz 20%, Mourvèdre 10%

Winemaker's Notes

Ruby red colour. Cherry and small red fruit appear immediately in the nose and in mouth. A very good balance between tannins, acidity and alcohol.
