Vines were first planted in 1365 on a gravel plateau called Lafitte. The estate has been owned and managed by Daniel Cathiard and Florence Cathiard since 1990.
The terroir consists of deep gravel with the top surface covered in smaller quartz pebbles. Below that, the soil contains sand and limestone. The vines are on average 38 years old.

Fresh notes on the palate of strawberry and redcurrant, followed by liquorice, pepper and vanilla and finally mineral notes of flint.
