The estate takes part of its name from the low gravelly hill known as Grand Puy. The vineyard consists of a deep gravel top soil on a limestone base.
The wine is aged in 70% new French oak barrels for an average of 17 months before bottling.
It is full bodied and tannic, hence ages well. Cassis, cedar, tobacco and truffle scents.
