Andree and Philippe Gocker, winemakers of Alsace, place careful emphasis on respecting the environment whilst undertaking sustainable wine making. On a site composed of only 8 hectares, which has been used for winemaking since 1568, they produce AOC Alsace, AOC Grand Cru and AOC Vendanges Tardives, and Selection de Grains Nobles.
Domaine Philippe Gocker Gewurztraminer, produced in Alsace, France, is known for its aromatic intensity, typically resulting in a medium-dry,, or off-dry style that balances rich, full-bodied flavors with a fresh, delicate finish
The grapes are often sourced from 20-year-old vines in clay and limestone soils, such as in Kientzheim. The juice is extracted with gentle, slow, airbag pressing to avoid crushing stalks and pips, ensuring a clean must. The must often begins fermenting using natural yeasts present on the grapes, fermentation takes place in stainless-steel vats, which are temperature-controlled to preserve the delicate, aromatic, and spicy characteristics of the grape. The wine is then matured to build structure, often allowing lees to settle for added richness
Contains: Sulphites.
The wine display intense notes of lychee, rose petals, and exotic, spicy, or smoky notes and pairs beautifully with spicy dishes and strong cheeses such as Munster, in addition it is the ideal partner for Asian cuisines such as Chinese, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai and Indian.
