This wine was both cool fermented in stainless steel to retain fresh characters and barrel fermented to help add complexity to the wine.
Straw yellow in colour, the aromas express the wonderful duality of this Semillon Sauvignon, with a perfumed floral lift revealing some underlying herbal character. Typical palate of the Kirkton Vale style, a supple yet refreshing mouth that is punctuated by juicy ripe citrus fruit, a dusting of dried herbs and a crisp mouth watering finish. Drink with a range of light dining cuisine, an everyday wine for all occasions.
Kirkton vale is owned by the Shaw family who have over 35 years of wine industry experience as a vigneron and vintner. Their dream for family involvement inspired Richard and Marie Shaw to expand from 5 acres to over 1,200 acres to become one of the largest owners of vineyards in premium cool climate regions of McLaren Vale and Currency Creek in South Australia.
The Shaw family vision included producing high quality wine for the enjoyment of global wine connoisseurs. In the year 2000 the construction of their ultra modern, state of the are winery was completed.
The wine is produced from grapes picked from the family vineyards and is produced at the winery located in Currency Creek.
A rich intense and full bodied red wine with startling berry fruit aromas and flavours balanced with an abundance of oak and firm tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon’s structure perfectly compliments the fruit and chocolate flavours of Shiraz, for a complex and hearty red wine of outstanding character. Big, bold and dark, a luxurious treat.
